Science students are learning to use their research instruments for biological and chemical analysis.
With the installation of several labs throughout the building, students have been able to conduct various experiments, including some involving cancer related research.
The goal of the science department is to provide an education that equips their students for successful careers and post-graduate education.
"It prepares them on a level that reading from a textbook could never prepare you for," says McMurry professor Sheena Banks. "Sitting on the sidelines is learning by observation, but here we definitely preach hands on approach."
Several students have worked as interns with local biomedical researchers and have gone on to pursue graduate or professional education.
