"Some bring old toilets, the sink, washer dryers and refrigerators." Said Bob Ervin, manager of the Abilene Recycling Center.
For the next few days the recycling center is opening their gates and letting resident drop off these large items free of charge.
"Its an opportunity for the people to clean their place out." Said Bob Ervin.
By offering fall and spring amnesty days, the recycling center hopes to clean up Abilene and encouraging better recycling habits.
"If we can reuse something or put it back in the stream to be reused it cost less money and we use less natural resources." Said Bob Ervin.
More than two thousands residents are expected to stop by the recycling and help do their part to keep the environment clean. Just bring proof of residency like a water bill.
