Residents Excited To See Rain Again

While the weather conditions may slow residents down a bit this weekend, they are welcoming the rain and saying they wouldn't have it any other way.

"You never know when it's going to rain," says Larry Ford.

Although rain was in the forecast, many residents did not expect to see so much fall from the sky.

Resident Linda Rutlich says, "It's just been scattered and we got our hopes up so many times, and today it has proven true."

Many residents are calling the raindrops a gift from up above.

"Only the Lord sends us what we need and we do need rain so I just want to thank him for that," says Henry Tristan.

"Such a blessing to have the rain," says Rutlich.

Fortunately for resident Larry Ford, he took precautionary action, that could have possibly saved his house from flooding.

Ford explains, "I just had my roof repaired."

Ford's roof received a substantial amount of damage from the hail storm earlier this year.

Thankfully he got the problem fixed right before the rain hit the Big Country.

"Barely got it done," says Ford.

He continues, "I am very blessed that I got it in the nick of time."

Now that Ford's roof is fixed, he can rest assured that his home will be protected from the element.

"I'm looking forward to not worrying about it anymore," says Ford.

As for today, he plans to sit back, relax, and enjoy the rain.

"Probably sit on my porch and enjoy the sound and the feel of the moist air, which we haven't seen in a long time," says Ford.
