The Coliseum will host one of the most popular sports in the country when South Plains Amateur Mixed Martial Arts brings a full card of fights to Snyder.

Rumble On The Plains, set for Oct. 22, will showcase 10 fights in eight divisions, including a title fight between Aaron Hoyt and Rito Morales as the main event. Hoyt and Morales both weigh in at 170 pounds, although Hoyt at six-foot has a height advantage over the 5-8 Morales.

There will be nine other fights in eight weight classes, with two bouts in the bantamweight division. All fights are scheduled for three rounds and subject to change. In the super heavyweight division, George Trujillo will battle Mike Berdeia.

Robert Box and Brody Smith will fight in a heavyweight bout, while Josh Alejandro will face Alex Madrid in the light heavyweight class. The welterweight fight will pit Chris Martinez against Kelly Westby while Danny Kraft and Julio Honesto will square off in the lightweight match.

Featherweight opponents will be Jesus Montes and Noel De La Rosa while flyweights Isaac Rawlinson and Mark Plata are scheduled to meet. The bantamweight class will feature two bouts - Chris Flores vs. Isaiah Hernandez and Tanner Billings vs. Dusty Davila.

MMA has exploded in the United States, surpassing boxing in popularity. Fighters in MMA use a variety of approved martial arts, including jiu-jitsu, tae kwon do, boxing, wrestling, judo and karate.

South Plains Amateur Mixed Martial Arts is a non-profit organization formed to create, maintain and distribute state-level rules for amateur MMA competition in Texas. The organization encourages the safe training of amateur fighters and helps promote the sport through public information, education and competitive events in West Texas.

General admission tickets are $15 in advance and $18.50 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and fights begin at 7 p.m.
