Come this weekend, Wild West Fest will bring more than just live music to the Big Country.

The two day event also includes a washer's tournament, brisket cook-off, and horseshoe competition.  The grand prizes for each event will be cash totally over two-thousand dollars.

The washer pitching tournament will be double elimination style with two man teams.  Each game will play to 21 points, with a two-point rule in order to win.  Scoring is based around the three hole boards.  Each board is spaced ten feet apart with the furthest hole worth five points, the middle worth three points, and the closest worth only a single point.

"There is a cover-up rule," says Backporch Production's Kevin Darby, "so if I was to throw one in the five point hole, and the other team threw one in the five point hole, he covered me up so neither one of us scored points."

Each team will stand next to an opposing player, encouraging good-humored trash talking, according to Darby.

"We hope everybody wears their best team shirts," says Darby, "we want to keep it clean and fun but at the same time that's entertainment... the spirit of competition."

Darby says, if 16 teams enter the tournament, the first place team will walk away with $1000, second place with $350, and third with $250.  The tournament is also double elimination style which means everyone will get a second chance at the jackpot.

To register for the tournament visit the Wild West Main Website and download a registration form and view complete rules and regulations for the tournament.
