Two lucky partners could walk away with up to $1,000 in cash prizes just by playing a few games of horseshoes this weekend at Wild West Fest.

According to Kevin Darby of Backporch Productions, horseshoes is "one of the oldest games there is." The set up includes a horseshoe, a stake 18 inches out of the ground and a sandbox surrounding the stake.

The goal is to throw the horseshoe as close as you can to the metal stake. Hitting the sand gives you one point, leaning the shoe against the pole is three, and a "ringer," wrapping the shoe around the stake is worth five points.

The tournament costs $250 per team, with each signup also receiving four tickets and an RV pass.

As long as 16 teams enter the tournament, the first place winner will walk away with a $1000 grand prize. Second place brings in $350, and third place is $150.
