Updated: October 27, 2011
The Abilene State Supported Living Center hosted its annual Halloween carnival.

Residents at the state school enjoyed games and prizes at the gym.

Volunteers from the Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Club, and various other groups around Abilene sponsored the event and set up game booths.

"We provide all the prizes, the refreshments and the wonderful recreation department sets up the skeleton of the carnival... Then the booth sponsors decorate their booths," said volunteer and organizer Shirley Glandon.

Gladon says she has been volunteering at the carnival since 1964 and says it's a great event for the residents and the staff of the center.
