Big Country Voter's Guide to Tuesday's Election

On Tuesday, polls across the Big Country will be open as voters decide 10 Texas constitutional amendments. For a complete breakdown of those measures, click here.

Here are some of the local races on area ballots. There are no local races in Taylor County:

Brookesmith ISD
"Approving the ad valorem tax rate of $1.2926 per $100 valuation in Brookesmith ISD for the current year, a rate that is $0.13 higher per $100 valuation than the school district rollback tax rate."

City of Coleman
Mayoral Election: Scott N. Northway; Carolyn C. Merriman; Baker Rudolph

Roby CISD
"Approving the ad valorem tax rate of $1.268 per $100 valuation in Roby CISD for the current year, a rate that is $0.13 higher per $100 valuation than the school district rollback tax rate."

City of Anson
" Prop 1: That the charter of the City of Anson shall be amended by amending Article V, section 22, relating to the prohibition of contracts for service."
Prop 2: "The reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the City of Anson at the rate of one-fourth of one percent (0.25%) to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets."

City of Hawley
Mayor: Ronnie Joe Woodard (Incumbent); Larry Gober; Troy Peacock
City Council Place 2: Frank Garrard; Henry C. Scott (Incumbent)
City Council Place 4: Billy Richardson; Vivian W. Romero (Incumbent)

Mitchell County
Prop 1: Voters are being asked to approve an $8.2 million bond for the construction of a new jail and law enforcement facility
Prop 2: Voters are being asked to approve $1.995 million in bond for the construction of district court facility.

City of Stamford
Mayor: Johnny Anders (Incumbent); Rey Alvarez

City of Ranger
Prop 1: "The reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the City of Ranger, Texas at the rate of one-fourth of one percent (0.25%) to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets."

Breckenridge ISD
"The issuance by Breckenridge ISD of $2,395,000 of bonds for the purpose of renovating an existing school building for use as a band hall, and levying the tax in payment of such bonds."
