Downtown Abilene Too Dull?

Updated: September 22, 2008
Downtown Abilene Too Dull? Downtown is a popular area in Abilene for going out to eat and taking a stroll, but is that enough? The City of Abilene has been working to enhance the attraction of the downtown area, but many Abilene residents still wish there were more when it comes to nightlife entertainment...especially for young people. Abilene is home to thousands of college students who say there are a few attractions to down town such as art, coffee, and the occasional gig at the paramount theatre; but many express that there just isnt enough to do. While it may seem that downtown Abilene nightlife is lacking, some say people may just need to take a deeper look. There is no current project for new venues in downtown Abilene, but Cultural Affairs is pushing for more attraction to the art and music theme of downtown. They say there are in fact plenty of activities for nightlife, but people need to know where to look. You can find out whats happening in downtown Abilene at abilenetx.com.
