When it comes to burgers, Abilene is chock full of restaurants claiming to be number one. We brought in Heff's Burgers to see how they stood up against the competition.
"Brenda had the idea, make a bigger burger you can't get anywhere else and sell it cheaper," says Rick Hollenbeck, manager of Heff's Burgers. "I come in every single morning and hand make every single patty that we sell that day."
Heff's boasts fresh burgers and fries, made fresh everyday and never frozen. Hollenbeck says every order of fries is cut fresh, never before the order is made.
Abilene Reporter news voted Heff's the 2011 Best Burger in Abilene, a feat Hollenbeck says hes extremely proud of.
But Heff's has more to offer than just burgers. According to Brenda Hefferman, owner of Heff's Burgers, the thing people really go crazy over are understandably the fried pies.
