Doctors See Increase In 'Sleep Texting'

By: Vertex News
Updated: August 22, 2012
Researchers say the smartphone age is giving birth to a new trend: sleep texting.

Sleep experts say patients have reported sending incoherent text messages while asleep and having no recollection of it when they wake up.

The phenomenon is rare.

Doctors say it may be a product of overwork during the waking hours.

They recommend turning the phone off at night and leaving it in a place that's not within easy reach.
