UPDATE: Philen Sentenced to Life for Murdering Brother

Update, 6 pm: Randall Philen has been sentenced to life in prison.


Update, 4 pm:
Randall Philen has been found guilty of the 2009 murder of his brother in Brownwood, according to the Brownwood Bulletin.

Philen was also found guilty of possession of marijuana, a verdict that was handed down with the murder verdict around 2:00 this afternoon after approximately three hours of deliberation.

The punishment phase of the trial is now underway.

The fate of a Brownwood man accused of murdering his brother is now in the hands of a jury, according to the Brownwood Bulletin.

Randall Philen is on trial for the murder of his brother Ronald in 2009.

The Brownwood Bulletin reports that the jury began deliberating this morning after closing arguments were made by each side's respective lawyers.
