8th ranked Merkel met up with number 6 Muleshoe just outside of Lubbock.
A defensive Battle early on Baylor Mullins scrambling away trying to break a tackle but lost the football And matthew Ambriz recovers for Muleshoe.
The turnover gave the Mules a short field and they took advantage as Beau Avila catches the quick slant and gives Muleshoe the first points of the ballgame, they led it 7-0.
But the Badgers would answer in the second quarter Joseph Reed gets a tough run up the gut to make it 7-6, but they would miss the p-a-t giving Muleshoe the 7-6 lead.
It was a much more high scoring affair in the 2nd half however, going back and forth until the final gun. but in the end Muleshoe was able to outlast Merkel 33-27.
