Several Big Country "celebrities" were on hand this morning to help deliver for Meals on Wheels.

The celebrities were paired with a veteran volunteer to deliver the hot meals to those in need around Abilene.

Mayor Norm Archibald, Sheriff Les Bruce and others were on hand to help deliver the meals. The local chapter of Meals on Wheels serves more than 1,000 people in Abilene and say it's important to have the support of the community.

"Meals on Wheels could also use volunteers to us help deliver pet food which can be done in the evenings or on the weekends," says Betty Bradley, executive director of Meals on Wheels Plus.

The local Meals on Wheels program could always use your help, if you would like to donate your time or money, give them a call at 672-5050.
