A quiet neighborhood with a majority of military families. Now, one resident, a victim of vandals.
This is all that's left of a decorative Statue of David that caused quite a controversy several months back. Many neighbors upset that Luke Kosut put a nude statue in his front yard that they deemed, inappropriate. The fuss had died down so Kosut figured all was okay.
Him and his wife went to bed at 8pm last night. At around midnight, he got a call from friends who were outside.
"I just looked out the front window. And it was laying in the middle of the street. A couple of my friends were out there, and it was just in a bunch of pieces," said Kosut.
The vandals completely smashed the statue, brought it out to the side of the street painted over the private area in red.
"It's not a light statue. It took me and four other guys to put it in the back of my wife's car," said Kosut.
Kosut said, "Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long to happen. But, I just feel bad for the people who did it, if that's all they have to do in this town."
Kosut says he has plans for the future of his front porch.
"I've been tempted to put it back together, put it back up, or just buy a new one. Something else is going in it's place, I don't know what it's gonna be though," said Kosut.
