As the Big Country expects to see freezing temperatures, the Salvation Army expects to see an increase in the amount of visitors they get.
Once the temperature reaches a certain degree, many can no longer withstand the frigid weather.
There are 136 beds in the Salvation Army facility, but they do not expect to be filled to capacity.

"When all those beds are full we bring the cots in and bring them into the lobby we have here for those folks when we have any overage, " said Salvation Army Maj. James Parrish. "But we've been fortunate so far and have not had to bring out the cots at all."
The Salvaton Army allows visitors to sleep at no cost on nights when temperatures are below the freezing mark.
