HEB Celebrates Its Annual Feast of Sharing

By: Bob Bartlett
Updated: December 7, 2011
The HEB grocery store held its annual Feast of Sharing at the Abilene Civic Center.

They served up ham, mashed potatoes and vegetables.

It took over 500 volunteers to make it happen and they didn't have to turn anyone away because the public was invited.

"You feel great. It's great to work for a company like HEB that does something like this for the community. As a person, you feel great knowing you fed this many people," said HEB Unit Director David McKenzie.

HEB estimates nearly 8,000 people ate at the Civic Center tonight.
