APD: Drunken Driver Arrested After Blowing Double the Legal Limit

This morning at 12:20 Officer Brandon Scott stopped a vehicle in the 5100 block of Laguna for a traffic offense. A K-9 alerted on the vehicle. In a search of the male driver a bag of Hydrocodone and a bag of marijuana was located in his pocket. He was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

At 12:50 a.m. Officer Jon Merrick was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 1400 block of Burger. A female victim reported that she had been struck by a male suspect. This male suspect was placed under arrest for assault family violence.

And finally at 1:45 a.m. Sgt Jason Haak stopped a vehicle in the 3300 block of South 14th for a traffic offense. The driver appeared intoxicated and failed the standardized field sobriety tests. This female driver was placed under arrest for DWI. The driver submitted a breath sample and the results were over 0.16. The legal limit is 0.08.
