Woman Indicted for Embezzling $500k from Employer

A woman accused of embezzling thousands from her former employer has been indicted.

Heather Ann Smith turned herself in to authorities last August after she was accused of taking more than $500,000 from Spine Abilene where she was an office manager.
   
Police were made aware of the allegations in February of 2011, and has now been indicted by a Taylor County grand jury on a felony theft charge.
   
A court date has not been set.
