Christopher Lee Gaddis, 22, of Midland, was leaving district court when Deputy Randy Romero began to place him in handcuffs. He was at the courthouse for a hearing on a warrant for felony burglary of a building.
As the deputy attempted to place the handcuffs on Gaddis, the prisoner bolted for the door and took off running westbound from the courthouse. Deputies located him a short time later hiding under the bridge at 25th Street and Hidetown.
Snyder police officer Lea Tarter transported Gaddis to the Scurry County Jail. He will now face an additional charge of felony escape.
