Webcast: Rain, Snow Possibly Heading into Big Country

Much colder temperatures are ahead for Friday with highs only in the upper 30s with abundant cloud cover and a slight chance for snow flurries by Friday night.
A rain/snow mix is possible on Saturday as energy from an upper level low moves across the area. Accumulations near one inch are possible, but a lot depends on the timing and moisture content of the atmosphere.
Temperatures in the upper 20s will be cold enough to sustain snow heading into the early portion of the day on Saturday , but gradual warming during the day to the lower 40s would cause a switch from snow to rain. The bulk of the energy will move off to our east by Saturday night, and precipitation will dwindle from west to east.
Conditions will clear and be warmer for Christmas Day. Expect highs near 50.
A warming trend will take over for the first half of next week, bringing mostly clear skies through the middle portion of the week with temperatures climbing to near 60 degrees.
