This month's firearm sales at B and B Pawn and Trading have far exceeded any month in the past three years when the owners first purchased the business.
There were more than 1.5 million inquiries by gun dealers to the national instant criminal background check system in the United States this year. Almost half a million checks were done in just the last six days before Christmas.
The owner of B & B has a theory on why it happened.
"It has a lot to do with people wondering what's gonna go on with gun legistlation in the next couple years. And with the election coming up, I think people think about it," said Jeremy Wolfe, owner of B & B Pawn and Trading.
Wolfe says November and December are usually his busiest months because of the holidays and hunting season. This year was the busiest by a significant margin.
