This used to be a red corvette before it was scattered all over the interstate.

People who were traveling on I-20 stopped to help, they say the red car and a black vehicle were racing with speeds reaching over 100 miles an hour.

"I mean they were going full speed," said witness Dan Chaye McGruder.

She said she had been following the black vehicle for about an hour on the west bound lane when the red corvette pulled up along side of them.

McGruder said, "I knew they were going to race. After that they just left, and the next thing you now the black car tried to get over and ended up bumping the back of the red car and it just tumbled, tumbled, tumbled."

The witness is in the medical field and stopped to help before emergency crews arrived.

Another witness Frank Hutchinson said, "They were stuck in,  we could not get them out so a lot of other people stopped, we had the hammers trying ot beat it out, jumping on the car trying to open the doors."

A female passenger had to be cut out of the car.

"She was yelling and that's always a good sign, and he had a head wound," said Hutchinson.

The black dodge charger kept going after the wreck but was stopped a few miles down the road and brought back to the scene, and may now face charges.

The two people in the corvette were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

At 1:27 on the video, if that is the black vehicle, I'm pretty sure that's a Dodge Challenger, not a Charger.
