A resident of Abilene's Westgate Mobile Home Park on South Pioneer said his home is in such bad shape, he's fearing for his family's health.

Trinity Moore said he's reached out to management at the park several times since he signed a lease in August, but nothing has been fixed.

"The window in the kitchen has got damage to the structure of the window, what holds the window in," Moore said.

Rather than fix the window, Moore said maintenance workers placed sheets of plastic over it instead.

"Basically, this whole back side of the house, the siding is gone. It's rotted or has holes in it," he said.

On top of the $450 Moore pays for rent, he's paying between $300 and $400 for heat each month. However, that's not his biggest concern.

"I have a nine-month-old daughter. I'm concerned that we have mold and that she'll have irreversible lung damage. I have bad sinuses and it's affecting me. I can't imagine what it's doing to her," he said.

Moore has been trying to move his family out of the trailer, but said their financial situation is keeping them there.

"Kind of feels like you're trapped," he said.

As of 10:00 p.m. Monday, calls to the park's management were not returned.
