Dyess Offers Civilian Employees Chance to Retire Early

By: Andrew Carlson
Updated: January 4, 2012
The United States Air Force is once again offering civilian employees the chance to retire early, and the staff reductions could affect Dyess Air Force Base.

Dyess currently has about 400 civilian air force personnel. Base officials say seven civilians took advantage of the first round of early retirements, which expired at the end of 2011.

Current civilian employees have until Feb. 3, 2012 to apply for early retirement.

The job buyouts are part of an effort to maintain civilian funding in the department of defense at 2010 levels.
