Updated: January 9, 2012
Yesterday morning at 9:45 Officer Jim Craft was dispatched to a check welfare call. It was reported that a male subject was passed out in his vehicle. Officer Craft contacted this male subject and asked for his identification. The man reached in his pocket and pulled out a small baggie then hurriedly tried to hide it. Officer Craft asked the man to step out of the vehicle but the man tried to start the vehicle. Officer Craft physically removed the man to keep him from driving off and the man threw the baggie and ran from Officer Craft. Officer Craft located the man in the 1800 block of Clinton and placed him under arrest. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine and evading arrest.

At 12:50 a.m. Officer Stan Meiser was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 1600 block of Roosevelt. A female subject reported that she had been struck with an ash tray and had a visible injury. The male suspect was contacted at the residence and was found to have outstanding traffic warrants. He was placed under arrest on the warrants and was being led out when he lunged at the female and had to be restrained. This male subject was also charged with assault family violence.
