Abilene Solicitation Laws Change, 'Do Not Knock' List Omitted

By: Cody McDonell
Updated: January 12, 2012
The Abilene City Council voted on changing the solicitation ordinance today.

The new changes will go into effect when the council decides on fees and penalties.

City Council voted to change the allowed solicitation time from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Originally a "do not knock" list was proposed, which like the "do not call" list, would prevent salespeople from approaching homes on the list.

This was not included on the passed amendments.
