The Shackelford County community of Albany is hoping to limit where sex offenders can live in the city.

A city ordinance was first discussed in 2010, but the issue has resurfaced after a registered sex offender reportedly moved to town.

The Albany City Council has asked the city attorney to draft a new ordinance which they hope to adopt in the coming months.

There are currently four registered sex offenders in the immediate Albany area, according to the Department of Public Safety online registry.
