A real nice day out there right now with temperatures in the 50s and sunshine. This weekend looks great with highs in the 60s both days and more sunshine. As we head into the holiday on Monday look for even warmer air as we should see the 70s with dry weather. Cooler air pushes in Tuesday behind a departing cold front but then indications are we will warm right back up again! - Chief Meteorologist Mike Cole
Lots of Sunshine Today, Slight Shower Chance Tomorrow...
Possible record-setting heat tomorrow!Friday's record high is 101 (Set back in
1978) and I'm forecasting a high of 102 - ouch! So, grab that water bottle if you're going to be outside and try
to stay cool!Upper
90's through the weekend!
There is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for all of the Big Country through midnight tonight. Isolated thunderstorms have the potential to produce large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
Tomorrow will be mostly sunny and hot, with highs in the upper 90's.
The Storm Prediction Center has The Big
Country in an area with a risk for a "non-severe" thunderstorms tonight.
As far as numbers go, I'm going with a 30% chance across the area for
showers/t'storms. Remember, some of these could pulse up
and reach severe levels, with the greatest concerns being large hail
and damaging winds. Tomorrow, we'll have a 20% chance for
showers/t'storms, once again.
It'll be breezy and sunny tomorrow, but we'll have some
isolated showers and thunderstorms developing late tomorrow afternoon and
overnight into Wednesday.I'm
forecasting a 30% chance for precipitation, but not expecting a widespread
soaking rain event (unfortunately).Highs tomorrow will be around 85, with southerly winds 10-15mph, gusting
to 25mph at times.We'll hold on to a 30%
chance for precipitation on Wednesday and 20% for Thursday night. Temperatures
will begin to climb, and we'll hit the 90-degree mark by Thursday or Friday.
