Updated: January 17, 2012
Only a few weeks remain until Abilenians looking to run for city positions will be able to begin filing.

The first day to file applications for elected office in the May 12 election is Feb. 6, and the last day to file is March 5.

There is no filing fee.

Packets can be found on the city's website and can also be picked up at city hall.

The city secretary's office says those looking to run should make sure to read thoroughly through the information packets.
