Early Toxicology Results Returned for Abilene Businessman Killed by Train

By: Victor Sotelo
Updated: January 19, 2012
Test results show no alcohol in George Gibson's system when his car was struck by a train.

Last September, George Gibson of Gibson Motors was killed when a train struck his mustang on Grape Street.

Witnesses reported that bystanders tried to get Gibson out of his vehicle before the train got there, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Abilene police say there was no alcohol in his system. Further blood toxicology results are pending.

Gibson continued to make news after his death when a man on trial for murder in Jones County claimed he was hired by Gibson to kill a man, but the convicted murderer later said his story was false.
