This year marks the 42nd annual Rehab Telethon, and as CEO Woody Gilliland states, hopefully one for the record books.

"It's our largest fundraiser each year and we're looking forward to another successful telethon."

This year, Sunny Sweeney along with Red Steagall, Susan Hayes, Brad Mall, and many other local performers.

"We're going to have a five hour live broadcast from the Abilene Civic Center," says Gilliland.

And of course, all of the funds raised will go towards a good cause.  This is the 59th year the West Texas Rehabilitation center has been taking care of patients, regardless of financial limitations.

"In order to continue to fulfill that mission, we have the many fundraisers that we have," says Gilliland. "We treat everyone from newborns to our hospice program, an organization that does amazing things and impacts patients and their families."

As CEO, Gilliland doesn't take this mission lightly.  When it comes to this year's telethon, he expects nothing less than the best the Big Country can do.

"As long as I'm there, I don't want to be short of a million dollars," he explains. "That is certainly our target each year."
