APD: K-9 Alerts on Illegal Knife

At 7:35 p.m. Officer Jake Weise was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 2800 block of South 25th. A female victim said that a male suspect slammed her head into a door several times and then choked her. She had visible injuries. A male suspect was placed under arrest and charged with assault family violence.

At 7:35 p.m. officer Jay Tollison responded to a disturbance call in the 4000 block of Buffalo Gap Road. It was reported that a man and woman were fighting. Officer Tollison contacted the man and woman and the man gave a false name. Officer Tollison discovered the man's real name and that there was an outstanding arrest warrant for evading arrest. The man was placed under arrest for the warrant and also charged with fail to identify and public intoxication.

And finally at 11:15 p.m. Officer Chris Volirakis stopped a vehicle in the 5400 block of South Seventh for a traffic offense. A K-9 alerted on the vehicle and in a search of the vehicle an illegal knife was discovered. The male driver was placed under arrest for unlawful carrying of a weapon.
