US Rep. Mike Conaway to Visit Brownwood's Camp Bowie

U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway (TX-11) will visit Camp Bowie in Brownwood, Texas on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, for an operational tour of the Texas Army National Guard training facility.

Camp Bowie is home to the 111th Engineering Battalion, which is currently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Congressman Conaway, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, will review family support programming and view current training capabilities.

The event begins with the arrival of Congressman Conaway via military aircraft at 11:40 a.m., Thursday. Congressman Conaway will have an informal lunch with National Guard soldiers, visit with the families of deployed troops, and tour the installation; including viewing active training at the facility's firing range.


Congressman Conaway will be joined by members of the Texas Military Forces leadership during his visit according to Texas Army National Guard.
