Thirty-nine years of legalized abortion and over 50 million unborn children have been killed.

On Sunday Bishop Pfeifer came to Abilene to gather with other believers to pray for abortion to come to an end.

"I believe this prayer is very meaningful, not just for Catholics, but for all people," says Bishop Michael Pfeifer, the Catholic Diocese of San Angelo.

Dozens of people lined the sidewalk to share their message with those who passed by.

"I think that even today, people don't recognize people don't recognize what is happening right here at planned parenthood and so the bishop has come to pray for an end to abortion, to pray for all of the women who have had an abortion, that we might be of assistance to them in any way that we can and to pray for the people that work at this clinic that they will have a change of heart," says Dr. Jim Sulliman, who supports an end to abortion.

According to those in attendance, the group was not only there to pray, but to make a statement for those who believe in the sacredness of human life.

"I think it's very important for people to recognize that life begins at conception," says Sulliman.

Everyone has their opinion on the topic, but Bishop Pfeifer encourages people to critically study the issue of abortion.

Bishop Pfeifer, "It's not an easy issue I know, but we have to go back and remember how we see human life, what we've been taught about human life since the beginnings of Christianity."
