Brownwood Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Sonic Drive-In located at 1500 Austin Avenue Sunday night at approximately 10:45 p.m.

According to Brownwood Police Sergeant James Kidd, the robbery occurred as the business closed and the last employees were leaving. The victim was having trouble starting her car when two men approached and demanded money from her with guns brandished, according to Sgt. Kidd.

Very limited descriptions of the suspects were available as of Monday morning.

"The gunman stated twice, 'Give me the money'," said Sgt. Kidd. There were two men described as wearing all black, with black masks and gloves. One was described as 5' 10" to 6 feet tall and the other slightly shorter."

Sgt. Kidd stated that when the suspects ran off, the victim yelled out to the male employee that she had just been robbed and he began to chase after the suspects, but stopped when the victim told him they were armed.

Police searched the surrounding area for the suspects, but were unable to locate the two men who got away with over $2000, according to Brownwood Police.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning and police are continuing their investigation.
