City of Abilene Changing Water Filters

By: Katie Thompson
Updated: January 30, 2012
The Abilene Water Treatment Facility has begun work to replace filters that clean drinking water.

Similar to how a Brita filter needs to be changed every few months, the city filters are much bigger, and require replacement every 20-30 years.

The department is replacing four of their eight filters.

This project will take some time, and the department hopes to have the new filters finished by this summer.

The department says the average person will probably not be able to taste a difference in their water after the filters are replaced.
