Webcast: Defense Department to Elaborate on Budget Priorities

We may get more information about the effects of the defense department cuts on Dyess Air Force Base today.

The Secretary of the Air Force and Air Force Chief of Staff are meeting with news reporters this afternoon in the Pentagon.

Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and General Norman Schwartz will offer information about the Air Force's strategic choices and budget priorities.

Obama administration officials have announced plans to reduce the number of military and civilians in the defense department now that almost all American forces are out of Iraq and the administration is planning to reduce the mission in Afghanistan as soon as possible.
