Abilene Fire Department Adding New Technological Tool

By: Katie Thompson
Updated: February 3, 2012
The Abilene Fire Department will soon be adding iPads to their fleet.

The new iPads help firefighters create prefire plans during inspection of commercial properties each year.

They will allow firefighters to store useful notes or information, create diagrams with locations of possible hazardous material, and add pictures or video that may be helpful in the future.

The department hopes to purchase around 15 iPads and have the program fully functional by midsummer.
