APD: Man Arrested After Throwing Rocks at Cars

At 8:16 yesterday morning, Officer Stan Meiser responded to a disturbance call in the 1600 block of Butternut Street involving a male suspect. The suspect was allegedly throwing rocks at passing cars and arguing with people. When Officer Meiser arrived, he observed the suspect standing in the roadway and the suspect was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested on the charge of public intoxication.

At 12:27 this morning, Officer James Davis contacted a male motorist in the 1200 block of Butternut Street after the suspect committed a traffic violation by pulling out in front of the officer's vehicle. Officer Davis noted that the suspect appeared to be intoxicated. A standard field sobriety test was administered by an assisting officer and the suspect failed the test. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) with a prior conviction for DWI noted on the arrest.

At 12:32 this morning, Officer Andrew Valdez contacted a female motorist in the 1900 block of North 19th Street for a traffic violation. The suspect was found to have three active theft warrants. The suspect was arrested and searched. During the search, Officer Valdez located a small quantity of marijuana. The suspect was arrested on the theft warrants and for possession of marijuana.
