Ballinger Business Owner Arrested in Connection with Wife's 2008 Death

A Ballinger business owner is in the Tom Green County Jail for first-degree murder.

According to a press release from Hinsdale County Sheriff Ronald Bruce in Colorado, 49-year-old Frederick Harold Mueller was arrested at his business near San Angelo in connection with the May 2008 drowning of his wife.

Mueller is an owner of Hogue Steel LLC of Ballinger.

According to the press release, the investigation began after the drowning death of Lesle Mueller in May of 2008. Ms. Mueller drowned in Cottonwood Creek between Cataract Gulch and Cuba Gulch in Hinsdale County, Colorado.

The press release reveals no investigation details, only that "after a lengthy investigation, law enforcement officials have requested that Frederick Mueller be arrested and charged with the murder of his wife Leslie Mueller."

The release also states that the investigation continued after the arrest, and that "considerable work remains for all involved parties in the coming months."
