Amber Alert Extended for Missing Fort Worth Girl

Police in Corpus Christi are following up on reports that a missing Fort Worth girl's mother may have been spotted there yesterday.
Eleven-year-old Jessica Smith did not show up to school on Tuesday and Fort Worth police quickly activated the Amber Alert because of fears that she was abducted by her mother who, according to relatives, shows symptoms of mental illness.
Yesterday, after state-wide publicity of the disappearance, someone in Corpus claimed to have seen the mother's SUV although no mention was made of Jessica.
Other than that media report, there is no further confirmation.
Police have also expanded their search into New Mexico where state police also issued an Amber Alert at the request of Fort Worth investigators.
