Allegations of an improper relationship with a student have resulted in two Eastland ISD employees being placed on administrative leave.

The two employees, a bus monitor and a bus driver, haven't been at work all week after an alleged improper relationship between the bus monitor and a student.

Eastland Police Chief Billy Myrick confirmed the allegations in which video surveillance shows a girl and the bus monitor giving each other a hug before the student gives the monitor a kiss on the cheek.

The school district has placed the monitor on administrative leave and the driver as well for possible facilitation of the improper relationship.

Chief Myrick said the matter is being investigated both internally within the district and as a criminal investigation through himself and the police department. He said his investigation should be complete early next week.

EISD Superintendent Hughes was unavailable for comment.

First, lets hope that this Chief does a good job in "his" investigation and not like cases in Murphy. Second, if the DA's ofc gets this case, and ADA Adams gets it she will "railroad" for a conviction, even if there is no case, just to say she can. Third, let the Texas Ranger investigate also. People you need to get a grip, like the person below said, Eastland is a small town and many times the kids have know those that work at the school forever or may even be related to them. How many times have kids treat the older family friends as their grandparents, or they maybe the closest thing that they have to grandparents. I think that people over react at times and this may be one of those times. IF this person is NOT guilty of anything in the end, I hope they SUE the pants off EISD and the Superintendent. I'd take them to the wood shed for a good ol' time strapping.

I grew up in Eastland, you can't understand a small town unless you grew up in one. I understand things always change but the people in this town are a very close knit community. My Dad and sister still live there and I visit often. I love going home. These allegations can tear a community apart. I know it is not uncommon for this kind of behavior to take place as a kind and caring gesture, not [censored] in nature. The little girl kissed the teachers cheek, not the other way around. Hugs are common and help children to feel cared bout and a normal part of life. I believe some people would not have some of the issues they have today if they had more hugs as a child. This is about the craziest accusations I have ever heard, personally knowing the persons involved. My prayers go out to all involved and hope the person her instigated this learns a lesson about messing with people's lives and causing so much heartache and embarressment. My prayers go out to all involved and hope this comes to an end very quickly!
