Down and Dirty, Learning with Clay

By: Marlisa Goldsmith
Updated: February 11, 2012
Local students and artists got down and dirty Saturday in a clay carving class.

An artists from Round Rock, Texas visited McMmurry University to present an all-day workshop to individuals interested in clay.

The artist showed students techniques that she uses and gave them a chance to try it out.

Shikha Joshi said exposure to other artists is something every student should get.

"Everytime you bring a new artist, they bring their own techniques. It pushes you in a different direction," said Joshi.

Mcmurry's Fine Arts program tries to bring in professional artists routinely to provide their students with new perspectives.
