A study out of the UK found that couples blamed "falling out of love" as the number one reason for seeking a divorce.

This Valentine's Day, turn up the heat with these simple tips.

Number one, you don't need chocolate or flowers to celebrate your love. But you do need to make the time. Studies show married couples today have less intimate time with each other than their grandparents did. The trick is doing something both of you wouldn't normally do together. So tackle that pottery class and show your spouse football is your favorite sport.

Number two, use children to your advantage. Taking the kids on trips where they don't require your full attention, will give you and your spouse the chance to talk and remember why you fell in love in the first place.

Lastly, what is love without passion? Studies show that strong friendships stroke the flames of passion. Sometimes a little alone time is what you need. Call mom and dad for a babysitting session and kick off your night by shutting out all distractions, starting with the TV in your bedroom.

These are just a few simple tips to spice up your love live this valentine's day.

If you can't make date night as often, try a date day. Having lunch together a couple times a week can help you relax and spend some alone time together.
