This week we're recognizing Karley Simmons, she's a sophomore at Eastland High School.
Karley was nominated by her friend Sarah Walker Sherrill who says Saturday, January 3rd, Simmons made first chair at the state competition for the second time, a huge accomplishment for the sophomore.
Students from 5 different regions of Texas competed for the chance to earn the statewide honor. Simmons is one of 3 students joining the all state band, making it a record setting year for eastland high school.
The others new members include Victor Mendoza, Cody Hutcheson, and Senjin Thayer.
