Green grass and water is a sight for sore eyes in West Texas.  So how did Wes Brooks of Tuscola manage this minor miracle after one of the worst drought's in history?

"It s called water harvesting it started becoming real popular a couple years ago in the hill country."  Said Wes Brooks.

Owner of A Seamless Rain Gutter, Brooks took advantage of the new trend and set up a simple work of gutters and drains to collect rain water. The runoff from the roofs is stored in these tanks and Wes uses it to keep his yard looking nice

"I use it for irrigation and landscaping." Said Wes Brooks.

And he doesn't have to worry about wasting such a precious resource.

"With the drought we are going through people are starting to see the plus in conserving water." Said Wes Brooks.  He also says says the the installation of drains and stock tanks is not that expensive when you consider how much you will save on your water bill each year.
