APD: Man Arrested After Woman Spies Him Climbing Through Her Window

At 4:54 p.m. on Feb. 18, Abilene Police were notified that a physical altercation was in progress at a business in the 2700 block of South 14th Street. Officer Chris Lazirko was dispatched to the call and learned that a male suspect was confronted by the owner of the store for alleged shoplifting. A struggle ensued and the owner received a cut. His spouse was also assaulted during the altercation. Officers arrived and the suspect then fled on foot. Officers gave chase on foot and the suspect was arrested shortly thereafter for robbery and evading arrest. The suspect was also found to have an outstanding drug-related warrant.
At 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 19, Officer Anthony Joeris was dispatched to the 2200 block of Woodard Street. The calling party reported she had seen a man trying to enter her house through a window. Officers made contact with a male suspect matching the description given by the victim. Preliminary investigation revealed that the calling party had seen the suspect and the suspect then fled. The investigation led to a positive identification of the suspect. The suspect was questioned and arrested for burglary of a habitation.
