Texas ranchers have a new battle this winter.
Many had to sell off most of their herds because of last year's drought, which increased the value of cattle.
Cattle and beef prices are now at an all-time high, and many ranchers are reporting thefts of the livestock they have left.
The animals can bring in as much as $2,000 now at auction; and that has forced some ranchers to hire security guards to keep track of the animals at night.
Several sheriff's offices across North Texas report an increase in the cattle-rustling cases.
