APD: Drunken Man Arrested After Driving on 2 Flat Tires

At 11:05 last night, Officer Andrew Valdez was dispatched to a noise violation call at a residence in the 200 block of North Jefferson Drive. Officer Valdez contacted a female resident. Upon opening her door he smelled the burning odor of marijuana coming from the apartment. His preliminary investigation revealed that there were visible signs of marijuana and its recent use. A small quantity of marijuana was located and the female suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana.

At 11:13 last night, Officer Panya Washington was dispatched to a suspicious person call at a business in the 3700 block of South Clack Street. A man claiming to be in an unfortunate situation had gone into the business asking for money and had contacted the manager. The manager knew that this was not the first time this man had been in the business asking for money. Officer Washington contacted the man on the property of the business and her preliminary investigation revealed that the man had been previously warned not to return to the business. The business agreed to pursue criminal charges and the man was arrested for criminal trespass.

At 11:45 last night, Officer Michael Garcia contacted a male motorist in the 3500 block of Curry Lane. The motorist was driving on two flat tires. Officer Garcia contacted the driver whom appeared intoxicated. The driver was given a standard field sobriety test that he failed. The suspect agreed to provide a breath sample and that sample showed the man to have a blood alcohol content of 0.189 and 0.170. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
